Subject25F23(LION) — beasts of prey, predatory animals: lion
25H213 — river
46A122 — armorial bearing, heraldry
92C3 — (story of) Diana (Artemis)

In the foreground, Diana lies on the ground beside a river, with a lion holding the Jacovacci coat of arms to her right. She is identifiable by the crescent moon on her head. Her left forearm rests on an arrow, and her gaze is directed toward the coat of arms; with her right hand, she caresses a greyhound lying next to her. Her eyes are wide open. The title is written on a sheet being pulled through the water by a dog. In the middle ground, a three-masted warship—resembling the one in cat. 1.41—is represented. To the left, a promontory rises over the water, leading to high, jagged mountains. An island with a round tower stands just offshore. In the left middle ground, a deer is pursued by a dog. Above, the sun breaks through the clouds.

No musical work linked.
