This bucolic scene shows two shepherds in the foreground, surrounded by grazing sheep in a peaceful countryside. One sits on a rock, engaged in conversation, while the other gestures toward him. In the background rises a fortified hilltown with towers and spires, adding a sense of timeless grandeur to the otherwise humble pastoral life.
